Pre-School Class

Our center provides an excellent preschool class for older toddlers and younger pre-kindergartners. The teacher’s focus is to encourage faith development, self independence, creativity, socialization and language acquisition by participating in skills such as arts and crafts and music.

We are blessed to receive a $1,000 grant from The Catholic Foundation through the Foundation’s 2020 responsive grant cycle.

This grant will help our project, The St. John Paul II Early Childhood Education Center Preschool to increase their presence in the diocese and thereby increase enrollment.

The newly opened in 2019 St. John Paul II Center at 957 East Broad Street in downtown Columbus, is run by the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception and does not unlawfully discriminate against race, disability, sex, national origin, marital status, religion or any other characteristic protected by institutional policy or state, local, or federal law.

This Step Up to Quality Certified Preschool is accepting enrollment in their preschool and prekindergarten programs for the ages of three to five.  The preschool offers a Christ-centered secure environment, a quality early education including Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and a flexible schedule. We are proud that our ministry is being acknowledged and supported for all the good work we do.  For more information or to enroll please visit their website http://stjohnpaul2preschool.com/ or call 856-874-6096.

Our Philosophy

We at the St. John Paul II Early Childhood Education Center are committed to provide a Christ center learning experience for young children in a sound, invigorating environment that is stimulating and comforting for the mind and heart of a child.

Emphasis in St. John Paul II Preschool is placed on spiritual, educational, and social development.

Spiritual Development: Children are taught Christian Virtues and are able to explore their relationship with God and share their experiences in an atmosphere of joy, peace and goodness, flowing from love. Our goal is to create an appropriate climate for learning that enhances the development of the young child’s character. Character traits we strive to reinforce are self-control, a generous spirit, respect for one’s own dignity and the dignity of others.

Educational and Social Development: Structured and non-structured activities are part of the preschool curriculum. The program will provide opportunities for learning, playing, story time, snack, and rest. Our preschoolers will participate in both individual and group activities. This will maximize the opportunities of three and four year olds to develop their independence, self-reliance, confidence and permit their self-expression and creativity.

St. John Paul II Preschool offers full-time and part-time schedules for children ages 3 to 5 years old. We offer extended hours as well to meet the needs of parents’ work schedules.
